First Favorite day

My Party
My first favorite day was my birthday party.  I had all of my friends over at my house. When everyone arrived we opened the presents and straight away after that we played pass the parcel, then the chocolate game.  Kiana won the pass the parcel. We are not sure who won the chocolate game but I think I did because I was the one always eating the chocolate. We ate a bit of afternoon tea then headed to Onekawa pools.  The old inflatable had a rip in it so they got a new one.  The lady said that we were the first ones to try it out it was so cool.  After that we went home and had an awesome sleepover.

Taupo
One the last weekend of the school holidays, we went to Taupo for a quick trip to get away. When we got Taupo the first place we went to was Torpedo 7 because that is Dads favorite shop.  My family and I walked around town for a little bit then went to the place that we stayed at.  The place we stayed at was The Huka Falls Resort. It was a nice place to stay and it was really big.  For tea we went back to town and went to the Cob n Co restaurant.  It was a family friendly place to go.  The next day we went to the Tongariro National park. The main building was 7 levels high. There were queues to get chains on your tyres so you don't slip around the place.  The Mountain was called Mt Ruapehu. It was covered in a lot of snow. When we were going there, lots of car that had been up the mountain had a thick layer of snow on their roofs.  There were too many cars trying to get up so we decided to walk up.  It got really windy so we decided to turn back and book a holiday there next winter.  On the way back to Taupo we went to the thermal pools and had a swim it was really relaxing .  I had a great time.

Rosie's party
On the last Friday of the school holidays I went to Rosie's party. We played pass the parcel at Rosie's house and Martine won it.  There were pens and pencils in the prize.  Across the road is Lindesfarne College and Carl, Rosie's dad, works there so we could go in the auditorium and we watched Home the movie.  We got popcorn, chips, lollies and drinks. Georgia, Rosie and I got seconds. After the movie we went to Breakers and had dinner there. All of us got traffic lights (Drinks) and we got coloring books and pencils and that kept us quite for a while.  All of us girls had a great time.  

Week 11 Paper Waste

This week I have been trying really hard on my Inquiry Task.  At one point I got really stuck but I got there in the end.  I am really proud of this because I put a lot of effort into it.  I am especially proud of slide 11 my I movie that I made with Liske and Georgia I thought it was really funny and I put a lot of detail into it.

Matariki

This week we have been doing Matariki.  This is my blog post of most of the things I done.  I am really proud of this post because I put a lot of effort into it.  I am especially proud of my slide because I put a lot of effort into it.

 



 What an amazing experience at sewing. I got to do something that I have never done before. As I walked into Room 14 I had a hand full of butterflies in my tummy. Mrs Beswick, Mrs Niven and Joe-Ann (Mrs Beswicks daughter) were taking it. I saw a lot of people creations hanging on the wall. They were made out of denim, fabric and a whole lot of other colours. I felt extremely nervous when Mrs Beswick said “It hurts when you are sewing and the needle goes through your fingernail.” So I did not want to get it through my finger. I got Mrs Niven’s flash pearl sewing machine. I found it really easy to use. I started off slow with the turtle and went a bit faster up to the hare. I loved making the hangers. I thought they were crafty and I cant wait to get it back.

This is On Friday in Room 14 at sewing 

This week we have been learning and doing tasks about Matariki.  On Wednesday when the kids went to the Maori games some kids stayed back.  We done some amazing art.   I made a piece of art with Rosie, Liske and Tyla.  It was of the seven stars in the dark black sky. I did 2 stars, Tyla done 2, Rosie done 2 and Liske did one because she done the background as well. The stars were all different colours with officemax pencils. There were blues, reds, blacks, greens and lots of other colours.  The background was a blackie blue colour with koru painted with glitter paint.   

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

This week for my blog post I made a piece of art on the iPad. The app that I used was Pic collage.  I choose to do this piece of art because this term for inquiry we are doing  how to save the environment. This art is to show people to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

This is my Top 5 Ranking of New Zealand swimmers. I choose William Benson first because he is my head swimming coach. I choose this sport because I love swimming. I made this on Pic Collage.

Inquiry

Last week we picked a wondering question.  I choose Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. I picked this because I wanted to know how many trees are getting cut down a year in New Zealand to make paper and cardboard.  I thought of a whole lot of other questions too.

Sun devils swimming club

This year I have joined the Heretaunga Sun devils swimming club.  I swim three times a week for 1 an a half hours.  My Head coach is William Benson who went the the 2007 Beijing Olympics.  While he is gone I have two other amazing coaches Franco and Lucas.  For half a hour we are up in the dry room doing exercises then swimming for a hour.  Since I have been there I have learnt so many things like how to dive properly off a diving block and I learnt either when you dive or push of the wall you do 3 to 4 fly kicks, then 2 or 3 arm strokes before you breath.
