Task 7

New Zealand Vs Uganda

The game is under way with New Zealand starting with the ball and straight away it is a turn over. It gets to the Uganda goal GS, shot and GA got the rebound and stepped out so it was NZ ball. After NZ shooting a few goals Shannon Francois made a excellent intercept, delivering a great pass into the goal circle, with Malia Paseka shooting a great goal.  After these first few minutes of the game Uganda has had great defence keeping the shooters out of the way for NZ.

Down the other end Karaka has made a lovely intercept leading to a great goal being shot for NZ. NZ having great teamwork with Jodi Brown making the ball stay on the NZ side. There has been nice pressure by the silver ferns making Uganda struggle and go off side.  There was a lovely save by the Uganda C but NZ still manage to get the ball with 2 nice strong passes down the court to the NZ shooters.  There has been great defence by both teams with a injury time out in the middle. Uganda have been doing some risky moves by shooting and passing with one hand.  What a great pick up by Laura Langman! At the end of the first quarter New Zealand came out winning 20-3.

Uganda have came back on the court really strong ready to play another quarter.  Uganda has a new GA on and that has made a big difference by shooting more goals and straight away. After that Uganda have the ball with a 2 -0 start in the 2rd quarter.  Uganda had a very unlucky step but a nice pick up by Uganda after.  There were lovely passes by NZ making Jodi Brown shoot an amazing goal. Uganda centre pass went right into the hands of Malia Paseka and a centre pass does not normally go into the opposition GS hands. At the end of the 2rd quarter 39-16 with NZ leading and Uganda having a better quarter than their first quarter.

There was a short pass by Uganda so it was a turn over to NZ which went out of court. Then Uganda stepped so it was NZ ball again. A lot was going on! On the Uganda side they had a lot of stepping in the circle and NZ was hustling.  There was lovely passing by Uganda but WD on their side got a warning by the referee. At the end of the 3rd quarter, New Zealand was still leading 56-24.

Maria Tutaia is coming onto the court to play her 100th game for the Silver ferns.  Great ball by Maria Tutaia shooting but the ball fell out of the hoop but rebounded, making a quick pass to Malia Paseka. Great intercept by the Uganda GK but she was unlucky and it was NZ ball. GK for NZ, Karaka, made a big pass to Laura Langman who just missed it. There was a nice rebound by Leana De Bruin making the ball go down to the NZ shooting circle with a goal on its way. The final shot was by NZ and both teams have never meet before. The final score was 76-33 to New Zealand at the Sydney Olympic park.

Task 8

Jamie Curry 3 Week Rotation

Through the last 3 weeks we have been having a 3 week literacy group.  I chose to go to the Acting and we got internet sensation Jamie Curry.  Through those past weeks we have been learning a lot about her I have really enjoyed it.  It has been a lot of fun.

Report writing
Jamie Curry

Introduction
Jamie Curry is a famous New Zealand comedic Actress and a creative video maker. On Youtube she has a channel called Jamie’s World with over 10,229,490 subscribes. She is a self- deprecating teenager from Taradale, Hawkes bay. This teenager is not afraid to make a fool of herself in front of tens and thousands of people. Her fanbase is massive in New Zealand, Australia and Italy. All of her videos go viral all over the world.

Her life
In her early life she attended school at Sacred Heart College in Napier. Her favourite subject is design and she also played soccer for Marist. It seems like her life is the internet because she spends too much time on the computer, instead of doing her homework. So her mum turns the internet off if she isn’t maintaining a good balance. All of her friends and sister have inspired her to aim to become an actress in the USA. Jamie lives with her mum Bronwyn, dad Lance and sister Tayla up in the hills of Taradale. You would not believe this but she is an author too!  Jamie wrote a book called They let me write a book. It has not come out in New Zealand yet, but is already a bestseller on Amazon.com.

Youtube fame
As she spends so much time on the internet she is normally on either Youtube, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.  Her Facebook page would get over 7 million subscribers a week. Jamie said “I didn’t expect that many likes.” All of her videos that she posts are mainly of her in wacky clothes making jokes about herself and that's what people like about her. It takes her at least 20 minutes to make a video.  In 2011  Jamie started her facebook page. She has at least 10,229,490 likes on Facebook at the moment.  Most of the time she struggles to keep up with 11,000 lots of fan mail. Every night for at least 2 hours she checks them and replies. Most of the time she doesn’t know how to post videos on the web because she is not very technologically capable.

Other Successes
Jamie Curry has a lot of brilliant successes.  She participated in a video with singer Massad; the music video was to one of his song’s Girl Next Door.  Miss Jamie Curry was a New Zealand of the year finalist.  Along with that, she presented an award at the New Zealand awards.  Often she collaborates with singer Jamie McDell and boy band M.A.D.

Conclusion
In the future she wants to be a producer or actress.  Jamie has her heart set on a career in Hollywood as a serious actress.  She is an excellent and successful comedic actress.

This is my script for my writing

The setting for the script
Jamie is playing outside in the afternoon it is a sunny day and wants some time alone. Her dog has come outside with her. He was wandering around the place and goes to the toilet while Jamie was trying to do a handstand.

Jamie:  “How nice! Some time alone outside on a beautiful summer’s day.  Clear sky, no rain, everyone is happy! I love goofing around the place.”
           Dogs wanders into the garden
Jamie: “Hello sweetie, how are you today? You're so cute boy. Oh yes you are. Oh yes you are!”

Jamie: “Do you want to play fetch? 1,2,3. Fetch it boy, go and get it. Get it boy!”
Dog runs but does not get it
Jamie: “Ugh you make me get it too much.”
Stomps over to retrieve the dog toy
Jamie: “See I picked it up. It won't hurt you.”
Swings it in the dogs face then walks back a few meters.
Jamie: “Ew yuck! w\What is that squishy feeling on the bottom of my foot?”
          Lifts foot up
Jamie: “Gross! Dog poop! I hate that.  It is disgusting! I want this stuff of my foot NOW!”
Jamie:(blocks nose) “Yuck, it stinks!”
Walks over to a piece of wood to scrape the poo off
Dog: (Barks)
Jamie: “THAT'S NOT FUNNY!”
Jamie:  “Well that did not work. I will try the hose.”
Walks over to the hose and turns it on .
Jamie:  “Well I managed to get some of the poo off. now you can't talk dog.  Oh yeah thats right. You are a dog so you cant dog. I totally knew that.”
         She didn’t really
Jamie: “I am nearly done with washing it off, I will just turn the tap off.”
She thought she turned the tap off but she didn’t and puts the tap up by her face.
Jamie: “Ahh”
Jamie: “Turn the tap off. Somebody help me! I am getting wet! Help!”
Running around the back yard getting soaked while dog is cloning its teeth to the hose
Jamie:  “Sweetie that is not helping at all”

Maths graphs and statements

This is my first maths blog post I have done for my term 3 blog posts.  This maths task I have done at extension maths with Miss Hill and some other kids.  I have learnt so many things to do with maths throughout the week.  I learnt how to do statements and some other graphs I have never seen before.  I found the first one quite hard but when I had finished that the second one was quite easy.  Have a look at my work below and please comment.

This is my first graph it is about the ANZ netball champs

WALT use graphs and statements

This week at maths we were doing a task about either netball or Rugby.  I choose netball because there are 2 teams and it would be a bit easier to do. We had to collected the data from the sheet and write in down on the big bit of paper.  After that we had to add up the totals from both countries then we could do our graph.  I choose to do a bar graph. My graph had a title and key and on the key was what colours are representing each country and the squiggly line at the bottom.  The line means that each gap is different in between.  The numbers go up in tens but not in the squiggly line.  After completing the graph we had to do the statements. On a bit of paper there were questions that we had to find out.  Kyra and I got all of them but we could not do two because they were a bit hard.  I found the task challenging but fun.

This is my second one about the Rugby
This week we have been learning about graphs and statements.  The other day I done one about netball and the totals. But this week I done it about Rugby and the wins, loses and draws.  I found it a bit easier this week because I had a picture in my head of what we were meant to do.  The hardest bit for me was the statements.  There were a few I could do but some I could not do. At extension maths we have been having little workshops about statements, how to draw a graph, the title and the percentages.
