Greendale Swimming meet

A few weeks ago I entered in a swimming meet. The reason why is because I love swimming and I am in a swim club. A swim meet is when all the clubs in your region get together and do swimming races. We had clubs from Hastings, Napier and Central Hawkes bay. I entered in a lot of races and got some awards after the meet. I got 2nd for the 11-12 year old girls 100 meter breaststroke. 5th in the 11-12 year old girls 50 meter fly. Plus 6th in the 11-12 year old girls 100 meter backstroke. Afterwards I was really proud of my results. I got quite a few Personal bests.

Te Mata Peak

Welcome to my blog post. I chose to do this topic because like I said in my video it was the best walk up the peak I have ever done. I stayed at Kyra's house that night and in the morning we went up there. We started from the bottom car park and went all the way up the top and back down again.  Up the top we saw some lambs and one got angry at Liam (Kyra's brother.)I decided to make a video as well to make it even better. This week I went to Mr Moriarty's Literacy group. We learnt to write poems. We looked at a different poems then we got to write about someone who we know. I choose to write about my dad. Here is my writing I hope you enjoy it.

Calendar Art

For my Calendar art I chose to go to the textured landscape group. This is the final piece of art I made for the calendar. I chose to do a beachy kind of look and I used most of the patterns I did on my practice copy. I love the piece of art I have made and I am happy with it. The tricky part was when we went onto our good copy and I did not want to do a mistake. Also choosing the patterns and where to put them to make my art look amazing.  A hard part as well was when we had to chose our design for our good copy for what we wanted to have on our calendar. On one of my hills I done my initials so it reflects on me. I am really proud of my art and I hope my mum and dad buy it.

Scene Description

This week was our first week back at school. For Writing I chose to go to the scene description writing. We looked at other peoples writing and then we got to choose what picture we wanted to write about. I chose a winter picture. We got to start writing and my goal was to start my sentences off with an adjective. I think I nailed it and here is my writing. I am really proud with my writing and that's why I shared it on my blog. I hope you can comment.

• A simile and/or alliteration
• Has an introduction, body and conclusion

As I rub my eyes I realize that this extraordinary view is not just a dream. Many trees standing tall with white ice sprinkled over the soft green leaves is a sensational sight. Gleeful fluffy ducks bathing in the frozen lake getting frostbites enjoy the bleak weather. Shimmering snow smoothed softly across the land of delight, covering the slitless places of green like icing sugar sitting on a cake.  The old,  wooden  bridge is proudly sitting over the lake with a eye popping reflection. Flowers sprouting out of the pavements sit under the old bridge giving the place a serene touch. In the corner are the white crispy trees bundled together giving a delicate feel. I am in a little enchanted country of a blissful place, feeling satisfied.

Hamilton and Cambridge Holiday

Welcome to one of my blog posts about the holidays.  So, in the Holidays we went up to Cambridge and Hamilton. The reason why we went up there was because for my birthday I got tickets to go on a glow worm kayak tour. We were up there for 3 days and did heaps of other things as well. Optimist Yachting

This week I am blogging about Optimist Yachting. I have had a ball throughout the week going to Pandora pond and having the opportunity to have a go at doing it. I have enjoyed Kayaking and Yachting equally. I have only been to yachting for 2 days because on Tuesday I was at Inter school cross country, Wednesday could not go because of the conditions in Napier and on Friday because of the Tsunami that might be coming. I am happy still though because on Friday we got to go to Ocean Spa. Here is what I have been working on leading up to yachting.
