This week for my quick write after lunch I decided to write another scene description writing. I found when I wrote my one for literacy fun so I wanted to do another scene writing. I pictured a place in my head with heaps of beautiful things surrounding the area. Here is my writing. I hope you like it.
As I turned around in front of my eyes I see the most amazing view. Green grass is sitting on the ground peacefully listening to the birds chirping away. Colorful flowers sprout out of the ground with the most spectacular hues. One old blossom tree is standing tall with a long strong branch sticking out from the side. One brown rope is attached to the branch with a huge thick piece of wood to swing on. The bright sun is beaming down slowly on the stunning view giving it a serene touch. The aqua blue sky's above the view with the slightest puffy white clouds in the sky. I lay out a stripy blue mat to have a picnic. There are the most tasty food choices I have chosen in a while. I am enjoying sitting in a little peaceful place watching the the birds chirping, eating delicious food.
A few weeks ago I entered in a swimming meet. The reason why is because I love swimming and I am in a swim club. A swim meet is when all the clubs in your region get together and do swimming races. We had clubs from Hastings, Napier and Central Hawkes bay. I entered in a lot of races and got some awards after the meet. I got 2nd for the 11-12 year old girls 100 meter breaststroke. 5th in the 11-12 year old girls 50 meter fly. Plus 6th in the 11-12 year old girls 100 meter backstroke. Afterwards I was really proud of my results. I got quite a few Personal bests.
Welcome to my blog post. I chose to do this topic because like I said in my video it was the best walk up the peak I have ever done. I stayed at Kyra's house that night and in the morning we went up there. We started from the bottom car park and went all the way up the top and back down again. Up the top we saw some lambs and one got angry at Liam (Kyra's brother.)I decided to make a video as well to make it even better. I hope you enjoy and can comment.
This week I went to Mr Moriarty's Literacy group. We learnt to write poems. We looked at a different poems then we got to write about someone who we know. I choose to write about my dad. Here is my writing I hope you enjoy it.
For my Calendar art I chose to go to the textured landscape group. This is the final piece of art I made for the calendar. I chose to do a beachy kind of look and I used most of the patterns I did on my practice copy. I love the piece of art I have made and I am happy with it. The tricky part was when we went onto our good copy and I did not want to do a mistake. Also choosing the patterns and where to put them to make my art look amazing. A hard part as well was when we had to chose our design for our good copy for what we wanted to have on our calendar. On one of my hills I done my initials so it reflects on me. I am really proud of my art and I hope my mum and dad buy it.
This week was our first week back at school. For Writing I chose to go to the scene description writing. We looked at other peoples writing and then we got to choose what picture we wanted to write about. I chose a winter picture. We got to start writing and my goal was to start my sentences off with an adjective. I think I nailed it and here is my writing. I am really proud with my writing and that's why I shared it on my blog. I hope you can comment.

As I rub my eyes I realize that this extraordinary view is not just a dream. Many trees standing tall with white ice sprinkled over the soft green leaves is a sensational sight. Gleeful fluffy ducks bathing in the frozen lake getting frostbites enjoy the bleak weather. Shimmering snow smoothed softly across the land of delight, covering the slitless places of green like icing sugar sitting on a cake. The old, wooden bridge is proudly sitting over the lake with a eye popping reflection. Flowers sprouting out of the pavements sit under the old bridge giving the place a serene touch. In the corner are the white crispy trees bundled together giving a delicate feel. I am in a little enchanted country of a blissful place, feeling satisfied.
Welcome to one of my blog posts about the holidays. So, in the Holidays we went up to Cambridge and Hamilton. The reason why we went up there was because for my birthday I got tickets to go on a glow worm kayak tour. We were up there for 3 days and did heaps of other things as well. This week I am blogging about Optimist Yachting. I have had a ball throughout the week going to Pandora pond and having the opportunity to have a go at doing it. I have enjoyed Kayaking and Yachting equally. I have only been to yachting for 2 days because on Tuesday I was at Inter school cross country, Wednesday could not go because of the conditions in Napier and on Friday because of the Tsunami that might be coming. I am happy still though because on Friday we got to go to Ocean Spa. Here is what I have been working on leading up to yachting.

Welcome to my week 8 blog post. For the last 3 weeks my little group has been learning about Parris Goebel. We have been looking on websites and finding out information about her. We wrote reports and biographies about her. Every Tuesday and Thursday I went with Miss Spurrier and my group to do some learning in dance At the moment we are making up a dance. We are trying to make it like Parris's dancers with Hip-Hop and Polyswagg in it. I have been enjoying this experience and I hope you enjoy it. Please Comment.

Introduction
22 year old Parris Goebel is so close to rubbing shoulders with superstars all over the world. She already has an impressive CV which every professional dancer would love to have. 6 years ago Parris opened a dance studio called The Palace and recently she made a dance festival called Moon Child, which was a big idea for her. The dance is about two species coming together and it is different music too. Her best kind of dance is Hip Hop. She loves to travel the world but does not like living out of her suitcase all the time. Throughout the time traveling she writes notes on computer and in a notebook for the dances. Music speaks to her and she like taking people to another place.
Early Life
At the age of 3 Parris started dancing in front of a bunch of people. “I remembered nothing else but dancing” she said. She started Hip Hop of 12 years old performing arts school with ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary. From the age of 12 she carried on to age of 14 years until she began doing Hip Hop. She lives in Penrose, Auckland. In 2011 her crews went to the World Hip Hop Championships and dominated over 37 other countries. Parris was the choreographer for all 4 crews who competed at the World Hip Hop Champs. Bubblegum Junior Crew won Gold, Sorority Varsity Crew won Gold, The Royal Family Mega Crew won Gold and ReQuest won Silver. She also starred on the hit TV show Dancing with the stars in the USA in 2012.
Art Fame
Parris has had a whole lot of successes throughout her life. In 2008 she was one of the 14 dancers to be selected out of thousands to be in a show, Monsters Hip Hop. With posting videos everyday on youtube and facebook, she has a lot of subscribers and likes. She likes Aradna, Sammi J, Cody 6, P.Money, Scribe and Homebrew, and uses their music as inspiration for her videos. Recently she has worked with Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj and Flo Rida. ReQuest her dance group won the world Hip Hop Championship two years in a row.
Other successes and awards
In 2014 Parris Goebel won the young New Zealander of the year award. Her dance studio, The Palace, is one of the top dance studios in the world. She won the Best Female Choreographer award at the World of Dance Industry awards in L.A. She starred in K-Pop and boy band music videos as well as working with Jennifer Lopez and P.Money. Parris choreographed parts of the movie Step up 5. She was acting and dancing in the movie too.
Conclusion
On October the 9th - October 11th 2015 she has a Polyswagg Intensive in Auckland. It is 10:00am - 3.00pm daily and the cost is $120 for 2 days. People get taught by members of the Royal family and they will put a little concert on too. At the moment she is learning to DJ and rap “I want to try something different” she said. She is trying to teach herself nothing is wrong.

This is my art that I created for the art exhibition that is coming up soon. We were meant to create a piece of art that is a bit harder than what you do and it represent us and people will know it is your art. I chose to do this art because I have 2 dogs of my own and this is how it relates to me. I chose to do a grey background because it brings out that colors of the dog. I am really proud of the art the I produced.

List of materials I needed
Light blue, Purple, Yellow, Green, Pink, Orange, White, Light grey & Dark blue Paint
Black Vivid
Pencil (Lightly Sketch)
Rubber
Thin end paint brush
Thick end paint brush
A3 sized canvases (Get from The Warehouse)
List of steps to take.
First with the A3 sized canvas paint the whole piece the light grey using the thick end paint brush until there is no spaces
Wait for it to dry
Once it is dry sketch lightly on the A3 piece of paper the two dogs (It might take a while to get it right but it is ok and remember the eyes, nose and mouth)
When you think it is perfect go over it in black vivid and rub the pencil marks out
Get the paint and the thick paint brush and lightly and slowly make little strokes with your paint brush for the fur (Don't colour the eyes in with paint, nose or mouth)
Once it is dry we can add a bit of detail
With the Black vivid colour in a big part of the eye black but leave a bit of white at the bottom
Also with the black vivid colour in the nose which is just below the eyes in the middle
Directly under the nose draw a short line going down and at the bottom of the draw 2 lines going down into a loop then back up again
And there you have it your doggy piece of art

Last week we had the Fun Run at school. I finished 4th in my race. The course was 4 laps of both fields. I was so tired after the race because I was pushing myself to my personal best. It was a really fun day.
In the fun run I competed in the year 6 girls comperterive run. It was a 1800 meters run which is 4 laps around both fields. I finished the run coming 4th. I was really proud of myself.
I showed Parkvale Pride because I was keep pushing myself to my personal best and coming such a great place. I also never gave up and was determined to finish it.
Someone else I noticed in the fun run was Cody because I noticed he was trying his personal best by pushing himself and even though he didn’t come first place he was still amazing on the course.

Camo: So I am going to ask you a few questions about the Fun Run
Sophia: Ok lets get started
Camo: What race did you compete in?
Sophia: I competed in the Year 6 girls Competitive run. It was 4 laps of both fields. It was to see if you were good enough to go to inter-schools. I was going really well.
Camo: Did you show parkvale pride?
Sophia: Yes because I was pushing myself to my personal best and coming such a great place. I also never gave up and was determined to finish it.
Camo: Did you notice anyone else showing parkvale pride?
Sophia: Yes I did I notice Cody because I noticed he was trying his personal best by pushing himself and even though he didn’t come first place he was still amazing on the course.
Camo: One last question. What place did you come?
Sophia: I finished 4 not that far behind 3rd place
Camo: Yes I saw that race it was a close one
Camo: I loved it how everyone showed Parkvale pride out there on Thursday It was an awesome day.

In class we got a task about the netball world cup and managed to finish it before it got put onto the can do's. I loved the challenging task on it and it made it very enjoyable to do. New Zealand Vs Uganda
The game is under way with New Zealand starting with the ball and straight away it is a turn over. It gets to the Uganda goal GS, shot and GA got the rebound and stepped out so it was NZ ball. After NZ shooting a few goals Shannon Francois made a excellent intercept, delivering a great pass into the goal circle, with Malia Paseka shooting a great goal. After these first few minutes of the game Uganda has had great defence keeping the shooters out of the way for NZ.
Down the other end Karaka has made a lovely intercept leading to a great goal being shot for NZ. NZ having great teamwork with Jodi Brown making the ball stay on the NZ side. There has been nice pressure by the silver ferns making Uganda struggle and go off side. There was a lovely save by the Uganda C but NZ still manage to get the ball with 2 nice strong passes down the court to the NZ shooters. There has been great defence by both teams with a injury time out in the middle. Uganda have been doing some risky moves by shooting and passing with one hand. What a great pick up by Laura Langman! At the end of the first quarter New Zealand came out winning 20-3.
Uganda have came back on the court really strong ready to play another quarter. Uganda has a new GA on and that has made a big difference by shooting more goals and straight away. After that Uganda have the ball with a 2 -0 start in the 2rd quarter. Uganda had a very unlucky step but a nice pick up by Uganda after. There were lovely passes by NZ making Jodi Brown shoot an amazing goal. Uganda centre pass went right into the hands of Malia Paseka and a centre pass does not normally go into the opposition GS hands. At the end of the 2rd quarter 39-16 with NZ leading and Uganda having a better quarter than their first quarter.
There was a short pass by Uganda so it was a turn over to NZ which went out of court. Then Uganda stepped so it was NZ ball again. A lot was going on! On the Uganda side they had a lot of stepping in the circle and NZ was hustling. There was lovely passing by Uganda but WD on their side got a warning by the referee. At the end of the 3rd quarter, New Zealand was still leading 56-24.
Maria Tutaia is coming onto the court to play her 100th game for the Silver ferns. Great ball by Maria Tutaia shooting but the ball fell out of the hoop but rebounded, making a quick pass to Malia Paseka. Great intercept by the Uganda GK but she was unlucky and it was NZ ball. GK for NZ, Karaka, made a big pass to Laura Langman who just missed it. There was a nice rebound by Leana De Bruin making the ball go down to the NZ shooting circle with a goal on its way. The final shot was by NZ and both teams have never meet before. The final score was 76-33 to New Zealand at the Sydney Olympic park.
